Whispers of Light

Photography is a silent witness of time … It is an art of becoming that silent observer of life.

Behind truly captivating photography there is no opinion, judgment, discrimination, or personal perspective. It is simply an observation, a presence behind the lens. The intent is to leave the interpretation to you, to let your feeling arise rather than tell you what must be felt.

In these last years traveling around the world, life has lead me on a path of becoming that silent observer. My travels have been a process of developing this non-perspective, or empty looking.

When I began my journey I thought that I had left everything behind to look for who I am. I experienced many different states of being and held many points of view and opinions. I tried to hold on to one identity and to find one path towards my future. All of this was illusion. I discovered we are not what we think we were, neither who we think we will become. It seems we learn to be someone and then we finally learn to let go. Life is simple. Once the illusion of being something is gone, we are finally free to be everything.

Traveling enabled me to discover that there is something larger that just ourselves. By observing the infinite variety of what exists in this universe, finding my position in this world became obsolete. I realized I already have a place without trying to be anything special, just because I am part of the whole. In fact traveling led me to discover who I am not, to peel layers of self-definition off, and to naturally connect openly with many other souls.

Nature’s constant flow of life manifests some of the most beautiful events … Every second life is changing … The only way to live that present second of my life is to slow down my rhythm by listening to my inner self … and simply look around me … My intuition leads me to full awareness of life’s present moment.

Even as an empty observer of life there is still something of myself in the photographs:  a deep trust in life as it is.

The fact remains that photography is an art form and a communication medium, and therefore one of the most powerful witnesses of human imprints on time. By capturing images from this impersonal perspective it is possible to allow even scenes of war and famine to convey hope and peace. We can use images to enable a shift in vision that shows us a different possibility for our present. And thereby consciously create our society’s history.

We choose what we see. This is my learning so far … That is what I want to share in the hope that it resonates with you.”

Humans - People - Faces

For years I learned about myself through the eyes of thousands of people across cultures, there is no need to say that we belong to the same love and the same roots. Theses are images of some of whom I came across, each of them a part of who I am.
